I agree with you. I'm on a center left leaning guy, and there is no problem having children respect one another or each other's viewpoints. But when you are doing it to score brownie points with the unions, it becomes a problem. Tiny ones shouldn't be taught about sex, gender identity or gun use at such a young age, and if teens want to be young liberals or far rightists, let them, but respect their opinions. That's my two pesetas. Peace to you, Dane.

I'm not against kids being taught anything their parents want to teach them, I'm against teachers assuming that responsibility (when they have not been asked to) and positioning the curriculum on those cultural topics from some pseudo-American ideal set that does not in fact exist. The beauty of this country is the multitude of different cultures, disagreeing people all getting along. Only recently has the disagreement turned to such hostility (partly because there are factions of people insisting others take their viewpoints) and we can certainly ease those tensions by respecting cultural autonomy in every home.
